Sorry for being so quiet lately. The past few weeks since the holidays have been a total blur. I've been working night and day to get the Karma Club trailer ready for its big debut next month! It's coming along SO well and can't wait to share it with everyone!
AND I've been trying to wrap up my new book. I'm SO nearly there!
Well, enough excuses, on to the fun stuff...
The Karma Club - UK Release!
I've just heard from my fabulous YA publishers across the pond, Tick Tock Books, and they've designed the cutest cover for The Karma Club, which will be out there in June of 2010! You ready? Are you sure? Okay, here it is...
Tada!
Isn't it gorgeous!? I'm supposed to get a galley this week. I can't wait!
Okay, back to work. It was fun to come up for some air though and chat for a while. But now it's back to my writer's cave.
Don't forget to pick up your copy! It's available online, in bookstores and I'm told there's LOADS of copies being delivered to WHSmith Travel shops across the UK. So buy one for your next train ride!
Just a reminder, THE GOOD GIRL'S GUIDE is the EXACT same book as LOVE UNDER COVER (in the US) just with a different title and a different cover. But the story is exactly the same...well, apart from a few "favorites" being changed to "favourites" and "specializes" turned into "specialises"...God, I love those Brits!
And check out these awesome words from the queens of chicklit themselves, The Chick Lit Review.
"The Good Girl's Guide to Bad Men carried on perfectly from The Fidelity Files...well worth a read."
How come my blog feels like a content forsaken desert on some weeks and others, it feels like the good news just can't stop coming! I guess that's the cycle of life.
So here's some cool new stuff to report:
First, the talented and beautiful Joanne Rendell, author of The Professors' Wives' Club and the forthcoming, Crossing Washington Square (which I read, loved and blurbed on!) has written a very cool article in the Huffington Post about how more and more authors are connecting with their readers through digital outlets like facebook and twitter. And I'm quoted in the article! So be sure to check that out here.
AND...I just received word that the gorgeous website that my UK publisher built for me is now live! So be sure to visit www.jessicabrody.co.uk to find out all the cool stuff that's going on across the pond.
I just got the final cover image for my first young adult novel, THE KARMA CLUB and it is, by far, better than ANYTHING I could have ever imagined for this book. I am SO in love with it. It's just a total love fest going on over here. I simply can't WAIT for the book to come out next Spring. Oh, what a long, lonely winter it will be!
AND...I just got news that The Karma Club's first foreign sale is complete. It just sold in the UK to Tick Tock Media and will be one of the first titles in their new young adult division!
Attention all UK dwellers! The follow-up to THE FIDELITY FILES is being released across the pond on October 1, 2009 under the title, THE GOOD GIRL'S GUIDE TO BAD MEN. And I just received the final cover image. Are you in love with it as much as I am? I hope so! Because I really, really love it! It's available for pre-order on Amazon by clicking here!
So I was just casually cruising around my Czech book publisher's website, you know, cause I like browsing websites I can't understand, and I noticed that my name, or something remarkably close to it (Jessica Brodyova) was displayed at the top of the page with this picture next to it!
Which only means one thing...my book has released in the Czech Republic!
This is a very significant occasion for me because the Czech Republic was actually the very FIRST foreign country to buy THE FIDELITY FILES. And I'll never forget the email I received from my editor when she told me it had sold there. My reaction was something along the lines of, "You mean OTHER countries can buy my book too!? Whoopee!" So the Czechs will always hold a special place in my heart. And now that they gave it this kick-ass cover that I'm totally digging right now, I love them EVEN more!
Oh, and in case you're wondering, the title translates to: "Test of Loyalty." Yes, another trip to Google translate was required to obtain that information. Google Translate is starting to become my new favorite website.
Wait, does this mean I'll start getting checks from the Czechs? Sorry, I couldn't resist.
